Comme chaque année, le magazine Infoworld publie sa sélection des Bossie Awards 2010 des meilleurs logiciels open source dans quatre catégories : applications, logiciels de développement, plates-formes et middleware et enfin logiciels de réseau et d’administration. A noter la présence dans cette liste de l’éditeur français Talend.
Les sites Sourceforge.net et GitHub font état respectivement de 310 000 et plus d’un million de projets de développement open source. Selon le magazine Infoworld qui réalise ce classement, le choix cette année a été particulièrement difficile. Meilleur produit pouvant signifier le plus prometteur, le plus surprenant, le plus « subversif », le plus pertinent, le plus utile… aux utilisateurs, aux développeurs ou administrateurs.
